Kitchen Tips

In a Collaboration between myself and Holly Silvester we designed the Kitchen Tips app, an online sharing platform designed to improve peoples cooking confidence and in turn encourage more young people to cook their own meals.

We designed this app after finding research that showed how young people are not confident in cooking, therefore purchasing more takeaway and ready to eat foods which could lead to potential health problems.

The app has two types of users:

  • A Head Chef: a user who is experienced in cooking, this user will primarily be posting kitchen tips such as recipes, tutorials and helpful advice.
  • An Apprentice: a user who needs to build their cooking confidence, this user will primarily be asking for advice and using the posted recipes and tutorials.

Once signed up the user can follow accounts and tags for inspiration.

Users can save posts they want to go back to later. The saved pages are split into three sections, saved questions, saved recipes and saved tuorials; so that users can find what they are looking for easily. They can go back to a recipe they want to try or watch a tutorial they found while acting out the skill theyre being taught.
